Alan W. VanCuren, 76, of Cadiz, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville surrounded by his family. He was born February 9, 1949 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a son of the late Stanley and Gertrude Giliam Van Curen
Alan retired as a warehouse foreman from Consol and enjoyed wood working, crafting (only for Nancy) and farming. Alan was the last graduate of Flushing High School, a member of the Flushing V.F.D. where he served as chief; and was a member of the Harrison County Horseman’s Council and the Ohio Horseman’s Council. He was Methodist by faith having attended the Flushing Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents; by his wife, Nancy Joan Fischer Van Curen on May 16, 2024 and his siblings: Dale, Reva and Richard.
Surviving are his sons: Scott (Elke) Van Curen and John (Angela) Van Curen; daughters: Crystal Van Curen, Brooklynn McAfee and Ashlynn Van Curen; grandchildren: Hunter Van Curen, Emma, Aiden, Addison, Liam, Jenna and Ellianna Van Curen, Kamden Van Curen, Jayce McAfee and Kole Dickson.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until time of his funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio.
