Allen R. Fleming

Allen R. Fleming, 89, of Hopedale, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his family on September 27, 2026, at Gable’s Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio. He was born on January 5, 1937, in Rinehart, West Virginia to the late Frank F. and Ival P. (Fowler) Fleming.

Allen was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed bowling and doing his daily crossword puzzle. Allen was a faithful member of the Hopedale Church of Christ. He was a member, and former lieutenant, of the Hopedale Fire Department. He also enjoyed going to yard sales and garage sales. Most of all, Allen adored his family—his wife and two daughters, which he lovingly referred to as “Allen’s Angels”, were the center of his world.

Allen was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his sisters, Marie Zinn and Joann Swiger, as well as his best friend and partner in crime, Gary Dulaney.

Allen is survived by his wife, Carol (Dennison) Fleming; daughters, Marchita (Todd) Deyoe and Paula (Eric) Waggoner; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Hopedale Church of Christ, 306 Lahm Drive, Hopedale, Ohio 43976. The Hopedale Fire Department will do an honorary service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Dean Blythe officiating at the Hopedale Church of Christ. The Hopedale Legion will be providing military honors prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
