Alta Barrett

Alta Barrett, 90, Cadiz, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born September 19, 1920 in Cadiz Twp., Harrison County, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Cecil Mae Fulton Bargar. She was a member of Rankin United Methodist Church. A former clerk at Leeser's Cadiz Market, she was a retired clerk at the Harrison County Treasurers Office. In death in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Barrett, Jr. in 1975; a sister, Nellie Rogers; and a brother, Ralph Bargar. Surviving are a son, Dennis (Bernadette) Barrett of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Paul (Jeanette) Barrett of Washington, DC, Alicia (Tim) Mahoney of Chicago, and Drew Barrett of Pittsburgh; four great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Charles, Henry and Samuel; two sisters: Anna Irene Dunlap of Cadiz and Mary Puskarich of Piedmont, Ohio. Friends may call Sunday, 1-4 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral services will be held Monday, at Rankin United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Willson officiating.
