Anna Dickinson

Anna Mae Dickinson, 97, of Dover, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover. She was born March 12, 1917 in Hopedale, Ohio, a daughter of the late James H. and Frances Rebecca Snyder Laughrige. Mrs. Dickinson was a member of the First Church of Christ of Cadiz, where she was active in the missionary guild and senior saints. She graduated as Valedictorian of the CHS Class 1935 and worked at the Harrison County Recorder's Office until starting her family. She was active with the Belco School as a volunteer. Her legacy to her family was her beautiful hand-made quilts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Leslie Dickinson in 2011; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Rosalie Dickinson; a daughter, Janet Dickinson; a brother, Carl Raymond Laughrige; and four sisters, Dorma Dennis, Helen Dennis, Frances Rogers and Isabelle Barker; and an infant brother. Surviving are a son, Larry (Vicki) Dickinson of Dover; a daughter, Lynne (Darrell) Beeker of Homer, AK; grandchildren, Nicholas and Kevin Beeker of Homer, AK, Heidi (Brian) Swaney of Gnadenhutten and Melissa (James "Chip") Hershberger of Dover; great grandchildren, Brendan and Anthony James "A.J." Swaney of Gnadenhutten, Victoria "Tori" and James Jacob "Jake" Hershberger of Dover. Friends may call Wednesday, August 13 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, OH 43907. Paul Giffin will officiate.
