Barbara Shannon

Barbara Shannon, 68 of Cadiz, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home. She was born August 23, 1947 in Dennison, Ohio a daughter of the late Paul Camden Blankenship and Nora Kathleen Lucas Blankenship. Barb was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann Sowers and a brother, Leslie Wayne Blankenship. She is survived by her husband, Clarence "J.R." Shannon of Cadiz; 2 sons: Rusty Sowers of Cadiz and Tyler Shannon of Wheeling; a daughter, Jamey (Chuck) McConnell of Hopedale; a granddaughter, Breely Shea McConnell; 2 sisters: Candace (Don) Sickle of Cadiz and Linna Poole of Wintersville; a brother, Sam (Loretta) Carrothers of Bourban, Indiana and a number of nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 19 from 2:00 p.m. until time of her memorial service at 4:00 p.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopedale Church of Christ.
