Betty Peterson

Betty Mae Coffman Peterson, 84, of Scio, formerly of Cadiz, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Sunnyslope Nursing Home, Bowerston, Ohio. She was born November 26, 1926 in Amsterdam, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Carolyn Tolbert Ward. In death in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Peterson; a brother, William Ward, a niece Jackie Akers, and 3 great grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters: Vicky (Patrick) McVicker of Monroe, NC and Mary (Robert) Straight of Lodi, OH; five sons: Kenny (Belinda) Coffman of East Cadiz, Steven (Diane) Coffman of Scio, and John, David, and Greg (Beth) Coffman all of Cadiz; twenty two grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; three brothers: James (Marjorie) Ward and Larry (Laura) Ward all of Hopedale and Michael Ward of Cadiz; three sisters: Patsy (Jack) Atkins and Susan Kuhn all of Hopedale and Judy (Danny) Keller of Unionvale. Friends may call Friday from 6-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with her daughter, Vicky McVicker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.
