Beverly Henderson

Jean Henderson, 79, of New Athens, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015. She was born February 6, 1935 in Parkersburg, WV; she was the daughter of Joseph M. Garvin and Alma Drain. She was a member of the New Athens Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder. She was a 1954 graduate of Cadiz High School. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Henderson of New Athens; children, Wanda Smail (Doug) of Golden, Colorado, Jeff Henderson (Sue) of Pickerington; grandchildren, Stacey Walmboldt (Greg), Ashley Chism, Anna Smail, Tom Henderson and Rob Henderson; great grandchildren, Kaiden and Kolton Michel and Ace Wamboldt; a sister, Lois Garvin McCaughin of Canton and brother Richard Garvin of New Athens, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Cody Smail. Friends may call Saturday 11:00 1:00 at the New Athens Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will immediately follow with Reverend Walter McNutt officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery 73751 Unity Church Rd. St. Clairsville. Coffee and cookies will be served at the church following burial.
