Charles H. Mehl

Pastor Charles H. Mehl, 85, of Cadiz, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Harrison Community Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born on September 12, 1940, in Neffs, Ohio to the late Paul and Edna Mehl.

Chuck lived a life led by the Lord. He attended the Methodist Theological School of Ohio (MTSO) in Delaware, Ohio where he became a Methodist pastor. Throughout his career, he served the Asbury Parish, Harrisville, Adena, Unionport and Bloomingdale churches. Upon retirement, he continued sharing the Lord’s word through bible studies that he led. He adored his family and spending time with them. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching both basketball and baseball for his son’s teams. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing softball. He also enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by, a daughter, Cathy Mehl.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Mehl; sons, Chuck Jr. (Annette), Gary (Diana) and Chad Mehl; his 11 grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler (Kelsey), Sarah, Christa, Carissa, Aryeh, Alexsandra, Jeremiah, Kari, Sydney and Josie; 4 great-grandchildren, Aria, Ezra, Aiden and Arlo; and a sister, Edna-Pauline Dunfee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 2-4 & 5-7 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Dixie McHugh and Bill Mehl officiating at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Harrisville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be sent to Wellspring Pregnancy Center, 621 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
