David William Baker, 65 of Cadiz, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born June 1, 1950 in Wheeling, WV a son of Virginia M. Slates Baker of Cadiz and the late John J. Baker. Dave was a member of the UMWA having worked for Consol, was a member of the Cadiz Country Club where he was the club champion 6 times, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed following and coaching his girls sports and following his grandchildren in their sports and dance, spending time with his family and was Presbyterian by faith. He was preceded in death in addition to his father; by a brother and a sister-in-law, Sandi Warrington. Dave is survived by his wife, Jamie Cochran Baker; 2 daughters: Alysia (Terry) Capers and Angie (Darren) Johnson all of Cadiz; 5 grandchildren: Amanda (Sal) DeLuca, Taylor Capers, Ian Saho and Kobey and Logan Johnson; a great grandson, Jackson DeLuca; 2 brothers: Jack Baker of Canton and Terry (Lisa) Baker of Uniontown; his in-laws: Jerry (Leslie) Cochran, Pam (Rick) Rusen and Brenda (Butch) Carter all of Cadiz and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1-5 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Erica Harley officiating. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
