David Birney

David Lawrence Birney, age 80 of Cadiz, OH went to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 30, 2014. He was born January 3, 1934 in Hopedale, the son of Lawrence and Marian Myers Birney. David was a graduate of Jewett High School where he played football. He was a carpenter for most of his life, passing the trade to his three sons. David was preceded in death by 3 of his children: David Birney, Gregory Birney and Lauren Birney Lay; a great grandson, Marques Jackson and siblings: Janet Amick, Vivian Stahl and Jim Birney. David is survived by his wife; Judy McPeak Birney of Cadiz, OH, son; Scott (Patty) Birney of Dennison, son-in-law; Frankie Lay of Cranehill, AL, daughter-in-law; Karen (Ed) Heavener of Scio, grandchildren; Christina (Jeff) Bair of Canton, Taylor (Adam) Ladouceur of Green, Kayden, David, Grace, and Isaac Birney of Dennison; Brooke-Ann (Branden) Welsh and Jacob Birney of Cottonwood, AZ, great-grandchildren; Chalise Jackson and James Ruppert of Canton and Annabeth Welsh of Cottonwood, AZ; brother, Larry (Doris) Birney of New Rumley; stepchildren: Mark (Kathy) Thompson, Josann (Todd) Richards, Tony McPeak and Michel (Julie) McPeak; and 12 stepgrandchildren. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove Ohio with Rev. Robert Hooker officiating. Arrangements by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the donor's choice.
