David Birney

David V. Birney, 48, Scio, died Tuesday at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born August 21, 1953 in Dennison, Ohio a son of David L. Birney and wife Judy of Cadiz and Shelva Davis Birney Palmer and husband Robert of Tappan Lake, Ohio. He attended Roxford United Methodist Church and was a self employed contractor. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Marian Birney; and maternal grandparents, Hartzell and Mary Davis. He is survived by his wife, Karen Finnie Birney; 2 brothers: Greg Birney of Arizona and Scott Birney and his wife Patty of Dennison; a sister, Laurie Willing and her husband Bill of Alabama; his mother in law, Helen Finnie, New Philadelphia; and a brother in law, Tom Finnie and his wife Sharon of Dover. Graveside service will be held Thursday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery, Tappan Lake, with Rev. Henry Mooney officiating.
