Doris Russell

Doris Lorena Aukerman Russell, 90, Cadiz, formerly of Deersville, died Sunday June 17 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born June 4, 1911 in Massillon, Ohio a daughter of the late Milton and Katherine Pittis Huff. She was the retired director of the Harrison County Board of Elections, a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association; Unionport Chapter 360, Order of the Eastern Star; Harrison County Democratic Women's Club; Cadiz Aerie 2162, FOE Auxillary; an avid piano player and at one time was a member of a local band. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis J. (Bun) Aukerman in 1974; her second husband, William H. Russell in 1998; and a brother, Herbert Huff. She is survived by a stepson, W. Judson Russell of Rockwall, Texas; 3 Stepdaughters: Beverly DeSantis of Riverhead, New York; Jahcolyn Neiman of Oviedo, Florida; and Shelley A. Herter of Casselberry, Florida; 12 Step Grandchildren; 1 Step Great Great Grandchild. The Russell family and her good friends, Lee and Donna Butler of Cadiz will greatly miss her free and indomitable spirit. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. William Hudson officiating. Burial follows in Cadiz Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 225 West Exchange Street, Akron, Ohio 44302.
