Dorothy Schrickel

Dorothy Schrickel, 87, of Cadiz, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Aultman Woodlawn Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Ohio. She was born on February 4, 1937, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Kosenina Winski. 

Dorothy enjoyed being a childcare provider for 32 years—touching the lives of many children. She followed her children and grandchildren’s activities and especially enjoyed spending time with family. Dorothy enjoyed baking and was an avid reader. She was also a great fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. 

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Lewis “Ned” Schrickel; a son, Randy Schrickel and a brother, Thomas Winski.

She is survived by her 3 children: Bill Schrickel of Canton, Lori (Douglas) Hogrefe of Archbold, Ohio and Joni (Robert) Elson of Canton, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Jackson and Samantha Schrickel, Logan (Emma) and Noah Hogrefe, Ian and Chase Elson; brother, Joseph (Sue) Winski of Silver Springs, Maryland; and sister, Linda (John) Steffl of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz, with Rev. Ashley Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
