Elta Mae Fletcher

Elta Mae Fletcher, 97, of New Athens, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at her home. She was born January 17, 1926 in Georgetown, Ohio a daughter of the late Willard Clarence and Beulah I. Smith Hawthorne.

Elta Mae was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Curtis “Curt” Fletcher; 2 sons: Clarence Fletcher and Terrance Lee Fletcher; 2 brothers: Clarence “Bud” Hawthorne and Milford Glenn Hawthorne; and 3 sisters: Jane Rogers, Alberta Parrish and Grace Grimes.

Surviving are a son, Ronald Dean “Fletch” Fletcher of New Athens; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio.
