George Mason

George ''Dick'' Mason, 87, of Cadiz, died Monday, January 21, 2002 at his home. He was born September 14, 1914 in Sistersville, West Virginia, a son of the late Marvin Mason and the late Pearl Martine Mason Gloekner. He was a member of the First Church of Christ of Cadiz; Steubenville Lodge # 45, F.& A.M. and the Royal Arch Masons of Steubenville. He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary C. Albaugh Mason; his second wife, Thekla Heiker Wedlake Mason; a sister, Virginia Mills; and a stepdaughter, Margaret Wedlake Sheets. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Pernick, Cadiz; 1 stepson, Raymond Wedlake, Cadiz; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Evelyn Cerone, Cadiz. Friends may call Thursday, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. with David Collier officiating. Burial will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
