It is with sadness of the departure and the joy of being reunited again, the Miller family announces that, George Donovan “Butch” Miller went home to be with his Lord on December 21st, 2021. Butch was born June 26, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia a son of the late George Leon and Maxine Christian Miller.
He was preceded in passing by his father and mother, George Leon “Leo” and Maxine Miller, as well as his brother, Harry “Rick” Miller. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Kathy Miller, sons; Todd Miller, JR (Marti) Miller, Ryan (Alex) Miller and five grandchildren; Destiny, Miriam, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Elle. He is also survived by brothers Denny (Kay) Miller, Darryl Miller, Mike Miller, and Eric (Kim) Miller; brother-in-law, Tim (Michelle) Ferrell and sister-in-law, Mary Jane “Jamie” Ferrell. He was both family and friend to all he met.
Our Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend to all, Butch lived a life to serve others. A Veteran of the United States Airforce, Butch worked diligently for his family, friends, and community through service as a member of the Sally Buffalo Park Board, Cadiz Country Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and booster for Cadiz High School and the Harrison Central Huskies – all while being employed over the years by the Harrison News Herald, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Y&O “Nelms No. 2”. Taking great joy and pride in what he could do for others, he was only ever a phone call away.
In his personal time, Butch enjoyed photography, fishing, golfing and above all else, spending time with family and friends. An avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, The Ohio State University, Cadiz High School and Harrison Central Huskies his allegiance and support were known. He knew NO stranger and would give anything to those in need. So, celebrate his life and remember “Butch”, a dear friend and loved by many, he will be greatly missed!
In lieu of flowers the family asks that, if led, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
