Ivar Perkins, Sr.

Ivar L. Perkins, Sr., 78, of Jewett, died Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in the Emergency Room at Harrison Community Hospital. He was born July 22, 1943 in Reupal, Ohio a son of the late Robert and R Nola O’Neil Perkins.

He was a self employed mechanic that would help anyone out that was in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ivar Perkins; a brother, Chester Keeton; and 2 sisters: Mary Booth and Naomi Keeton.

Surviving are his companion and mother of his children, Ruth Benedict; 2 sons: Ivar Perkins Jr. of Scio and Robert Perkins of Hopedale; 2 stepsons: Bruce Benedict of Germano and Clinton “Bud: Benedict of Minerva; a daughter, Nancy Perkins of Jewett; 2 step daughters: Amanda Benedict of Las Vegas and Patricia Benedict of Kentucky; 2 grandchildren: Holly Perkins and Ivar Perkins, III; 2 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Emma Jean Blankenship of Kilgore and Karen Sue O’Cull of Hillsboro, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio.
