Jack Giacobbi

Jack (John J.) Giacobbi, 74, of Cadiz, died Friday, January 18, 2008 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born April 14, 1933 in Duncanwood, Ohio, a son of the late Anthony Giacobbi, Sr. and Viola Ella Hooper Giacobbi. Jack was a member of Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz and was a retired Meter Reader for the Ohio Power Company in Cadiz. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. While in high school and in the Army, he played football, ran track and was a Golden Gloves Boxer. He was a former member of the Cadiz FOE and the Cadiz American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Giacobbi and by a brother, Anthony Giacobbi, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn McDevitt Giacobbi; a son, John C. Giacobbi of West Chester, Ohio; three daughters, Lorri Giacobbi of Canoga Park, CA, Valli Davenport (Zane) of Cadiz, and Joddi Giacobbi of Westerville; three grandsons, Ben Davenport (Amy), Tim Davenport and Jack Ealy; four great grandchildren, Allyson, Elizabeth Paige, Logan and Ember; and a sister, Lorry Sedgmer (Paul) of Cadiz. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
