James Mason, Jr.

James H. Mason, Jr., "Shorty", 63, of Jewett, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. He was born October 21, 1950 in Steiner, MS, a son of the late James H. Mason, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Allred Mason Lewton. Shorty was a self employed Mechanic, owning Mason's Garage in Scio. He later worked for Huebner Chevrolet in Carrollton. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Viet Nam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Fred Lewton, Sr. Surviving are three brothers, Jim (Tracy) Mason, Fred Lewton, Jr. and Bill (Sheena) Lewton, all of Jewett; two nephews, Derek and Dylan Lewton; and cousins Margaret (Jim) Pickens and Jack (Jeannette) Allred.
