Janet Dickerson Bedway, 92, of Cadiz, Ohio, died August 21st, 2014 at Kobacker House hospice in Columbus, Ohio with her five children at her side. Mrs. Bedway was born in Adena, Ohio on August 17, 1922 to Robert and Zera Dickerson. In Adena, she met John Bedway, and began the most enduring of romances until his passing in 2007. She attended Ohio State University and worked as a secretary at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base during World War II. Married in 1947, Janet and John raised five children, who survive her: Marcia and George of Cadiz; Andrea and Tom of Columbus; Barbara (Greg Mitchell) of Nyack, NY and a grandson, Andrew John of Los Angeles. She was an active member of the Moravian Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Garden Gate Club. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Betty Jean Gates. Mrs. Bedway is remembered with special fondness by grateful nieces, nephews, and neighborhood children for her open-door policy on visiting the Bedway home. Her fondness for flowers, reading, chocolate and music were only surpassed by her love for her children and husband.
