Jeffrey Smith

Jeffrey Lee Smith, 58, of Newcomerstown, died Tuesday at his home. He was born June 14, 1957 in Wheeling, WV, a son of Willard L. and Helen G. Persons Smith of Moorefield. Jeff was a retired construction worker from US Lindsay in Dallas, Texas and a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and his construction work, which he was very good at. He avidly followed the Dallas Cowboys. Jeff had a good heart and helped anyone he could. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Lee Smith, II and by a brother, Willard A. Smith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Penny (Russell) Bowersock of Moorefield, Annette (Guy) Vale of Deersville, Ruth Beach of Moorefield, and Rebecca (Jonathan) White of Moorefield; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, April 11, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Pastor David Koch will officiate.
