Julie Ann Horton

Julie Ann Horton, 61, of Cadiz, Ohio passed away on October 1, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 11, 1965, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Howard and Gloria (Dishong) Horton.

Julie loved helping people and spent her career working to help people better their lives. She was an incredible artist and loved painting. She also loved her cats and spending time in nature. Julie enjoyed going to concerts and on road trips with her daughter and loved spending time with family. Most of all, she loved being a grandma and adored her granddaughter, Juniper.

Julie was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her brother-in-law, Dr. Charles W. “Monty” Montgomery III. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Chad) Smith; granddaughter, Juniper Smith; sister, Elaine Montgomery; brother, Jack (Ellen) Horton; nieces and nephew, Shannon, Joe, and Victoria; and several great nieces, a great nephew, cousins and friends.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
