Karen Dowdell

Karen K. Dowdell, 63, of Piney Fork, formerly of Cadiz, died Monday, April 27, 2015 at her home following an illness. She was born August 18, 1951 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late John Edwin and Bettie June Benedum Ford. Karen was a retired cosmetologist, having worked at Hair Haven in Cadiz. When she was young, she attended the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and crafting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Ford, Jr. Surviving are her husband, James H. Dowdell; a daughter, Kelli Dowdell of Muncie, IN; two grandchildren, Brandi and Brock; a brother, Rodney (Jean) Ford of Hopedale; sister in law, Dawn; her Dowdell in-laws, Ken (Debbie) Dowdell, of Cadiz, Vicki (Ken) Urbania and Dolores (Carlos) DeLapena, all of Adena, Tom Dowdell of Cleveland, Don (Rusty) Dowdell of Georgetown and Cathy (Joe) Goldbys of TN. A private service was held at the convenience of the family at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
