Keith A. Casteel

July 8, 1970 — July 7, 2025

Mt. Pleasant, Ohio

Keith Allen Casteel,

54, of Mt Pleasant, OH passed away peacefully at home on 7-7-25.

Born on 7-8-1970 in Wheeling, WV, Keith was known for his quick wit, generous heart, and quiet strength. He was someone who didn’t just show up — he showed up fully, whether it was for a friend in need, a project he cared about, or a joke he couldn’t resist making.

Keith spent most of his career in law enforcement, and his position as a Federal Air Marshal took him all over the world. He transitioned to the pipeline industry in 2016 and made many wonderful friends on the job sites he worked on throughout the US. He was respected not just for his work ethic, but for the way he treated others. His presence was steady, dependable, and real — a rare kind of person who made people feel like they mattered.

Outside of work, Keith had a passion for deer hunting and had several trophy bucks on the wall. He enjoyed collecting guns, riding trails on his side by side with friends, and most recently, pontooning on the river and lakes in the area. He had a deep love for his people — the ones he called “family” whether by blood or by bond. He was a fiercely loyal partner, a devoted friend, and a doting dog dad to his beloved Boston Terriers, Max and Mickey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Emma “Betty” Casteel.

He is survived by his partner, Amanda Keesey, his oldest sister Carol (Jerry) Laposki, and many nieces and nephews that he was fond of and enjoyed spending time with.

There are also 2 additional sisters, Karen (Joe) Zavatsky and Carla (Greg) Hall.

Keith had requested to be cremated and for his memory to be honored not with sorrow, but with joy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where his favorite stories, songs, and maybe even a few beers will be shared in his memory.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Tunnels to Towers Foundation or St Jude Children’s Hospital, or simply do something kind for someone — just the way Keith would have done.
