Larry Leroy ''Lippy'' Simms, 51, Cadiz, formerly of West Frankfort, Illinois, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at his home. He was born September 1, 1956 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a son of Charles L. Simms of Scio and the late Mabel Barnhart Simms Richards. Larry was a former coal miner, mine electrician, a member of the UMWA and an avid fisherman. Larry is survived by a son, James Charles JaColby (Heidi) Simms of Herrin, Illinois; a stepson, Keith Hutchason serving with the U.S. Military; a grandson, Xander Michael Simms; a sister, Sherri (Ernie) Mansfield of Cadiz; 2 brothers: Terry (Gail) Simms and Gary (Lori) Simms all of West Frankfort, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 2, 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. R.J. Leek officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. The memorial guestbook may be signed at www.clark-kirkland.com.
