Louis "Lou" Czibor

Louis “Lou” Czibor, 87, of Cadiz, passed away on October 14, 2025, at Trinity Medical Center West with his loved ones by his side. He was born on August 5, 1938, in Hungary.

Lou immigrated from Hungary to the United States at the age of 18. Lou was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He went on to establish his life in Harrison County, where he met his wife Dorothy E. Hopkins and the pair married in 1970. They went on to build a life and family they deeply loved. Lou was a member of the Cadiz Fraternal Order of Eagles #2162, the Adena American Legion #525, Fairpoint Polish Club and the Pine Valley Sportsman Club. He loved watching soccer which reminded him of his childhood in Hungary. He also was a Nascar fan and loved rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed golfing, and spending time with his best friend, Tim. Most of all, he loved his family. He adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and making memories with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a daughter, Lorri White.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. “Dot” Czibor; daughters, Toni Morris, Ericka (Darrin) Young; son, Louis (Cyndi) Czibor; grandchildren, Kendra (Robbie) Morris Davia, Alexandria (B.J.) DeFrank, Madison (Koby) Cool, Jenna Young, Brittany White, Brooke White, Louis Czibor and Carrie Hale; great-grandchildren, Ty Bracken, Mailinn Davia, and Laynee DeFrank; best-friend, Tim Knapp; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00a.m. with Darrin Young and Dirk Harkins officiating at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery in New Athens.
