Lucille Dowdle

Lucille M. Dowdle, 81, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. She was born May 28, 1932 in Barnesville, Ohio a daughter of the late B. K. Stephen and Lula Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Dowdle; a grandson, Ashton Fatula; a brother, Wayne Stephen. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Melvin "Tut" Dowdle; four sons, Mark Dowdle of Lebanon, TN, Moe (Stephanie) Dowdle of Cadiz, Doug (Kimberlea) Dowdle of Richmond, VA, and Bryan (Christina) Dowdle of Cadiz; a daughter, Lynie (Gary) Eberhart of Cadiz; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 6 sisters: Elizabeth Forst of Alliance, Betty (Howard) Davis of Bethesda, Stella (Larry) Webber and Evelyn Jean Clifton all of California, Joyce Swallie of Barnesville and Luellen Schaffer of NC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz, with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Private committal will be at the convenience of the family at Cadiz Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor Dowdle Scholarship Fund, c/o Huntington Bank, 657 Lincoln Ave., Cadiz, OH 43907.
