Luther Wheeler

Luther A. "Baby" Wheeler, 89 of Cadiz, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born March 9, 1924 in Cadiz, a son of the late Luther and Iva Walls Wheeler. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and a retired railroad worker having worked as a Gandy Dancer for the Penn Central for forty two years. He was a former member of the Cadiz VFW. In death in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gross Wheeler in 2013; a son, Marvin Wheeler; 4 brothers: Vincent, Pete, Lawrence and Carl Wheeler; and 4 sisters: Alma Blue, Mary Terry, June and Audrey Wheeler. Surviving are a son Martin Wheeler of Akron; 3 daughters: Cynthia (Mike) Jones and Constance (Jerry) Jones all of Cadiz and Cherry (Donald) Bradley of Virginia; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 2 stepdaughters: Gwen Hardwick and Etta (Bill) Blanchard all of Cadiz; a stepson, L.B. (Marrti) Brooks of Cadiz; a number of nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home with Rev.
