Marie E. Campbell

Marie Elizabeth Campbell, 88, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on April 7, 2026, at Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born on September 9, 1937, in Cadiz, Ohio, to the late Frank and Lona (Schultz) Fife.

Marie was a graduate of Jewett High School. She was also a twelve year 4H member. She met her husband, William Neil Campbell, Jr., at a 4H event and the two married in September 16, 1956. Together, they built a life and family that they loved. Marie was a cook at Jewett-Scio High School for many years, and then for Crooksville High School after she and Neil moved there. She was a member of the Quilt Guild in Crooksville for many years and had a passion for quilting. She loved quilting for her family’s special events, weddings and welcoming new babies into the family. She was also a 4H Advisor in Harrison County and Perry County for over 20 years. She was a 60-year member of the Grange. She was also a member of the First West Minster Presbyterian Church in Steubenville. She was proud of graduating from Jewett High School and was a member of the Jewett Alumni Association. She loved watching old TV shows. She also enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Neil Campbell, Jr. in 2007; her son, William Neil Campbell III; and her sister, Patsy Flint.

Marie is survived by her children, Scott (Rebecca) Campbell, Rebecca (Kenny) McDonald, Heather (Jim) Brehm and Bonnie (Chuck) Goodwin; 14 grandchildren, Tiffany, Michelle, Sheena, Bill, Katie, Sean, Annie, Matt, Luke, Elizabeth, Emily, Erika, Amanda, and Charley; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Campbell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the First West Minster Presbyterian Church in Steubenville with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
