Mary Chaney

Mary Lou Chaney, 82, of Hopedale, died Sunday at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz, following a long illness. She was born March 1, 1932 in Hopedale, a daughter of the late John and Martha Martin Elliott. Mary Lou was a member of the Hopedale Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed puzzle books and deer watching. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Francis Wayne Chaney in 2012; a brother, Robert Elliott and two sisters, Bernice Hawkins and Vivian Barkhurst. Surviving are a son, Michael Chaney (Ellie Rose) a daughter, Lou Ann Dowdle (James) and two granddaughters, Lindsay and Abby Dowdle, all of Cadiz. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, with Evangelist Robert Main officiating.
