Mary Gooding

Mary Louise Gooding, 96, of New Athens, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz, Ohio. She was born October 17, 1919 in Wallace, WV a daughter of the late Ota Jefferson and Elsie Hildreth Pigott. She was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church and the Freeport Order of the Eastern Star #319; and she was the store manager for the former Sullivan's Market in New Athens. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, Marion C. Gooding in 2008; a son, James Gooding an infant daughter, Marian Louise Gooding; 2 brothers and a sister. She is survived by a son, Richard and his wife Linda Gooding of Cadiz; a daughter, Nancy Martin of New Athens; 7 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 27 from 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jon Little officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
