Michael W. Whitlatch, 71, of Cadiz, Ohio, passed away after a sudden illness on September 1, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on June 3, 1954, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Clarence “Jack” and Barbara Anne Cole Whitlatch.

Mike worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at R&F Coal Company for many years. He then went on to work in maintenance at the Harrison County Courthouse for many years. He was a member of the First Church of God in Cadiz. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with small engines and working on cars.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, Nancy Kay Whitlatch in 2024, and a brother, Thomas Whitlatch.

He is survived by his cousins, Danny (Christine) Whitehair of Tennessee, Bill Whitehair of Jewett, Billie Jo Minnick of Tennessee; several special friends Rev. Craig (Mary Ellen) Haney, Rev. Jessica (Jason) Kerr, Matt (Robin) Dowdle and Goran (Angela) Zarkovic; and his faithful 4-legged companion, Zeba.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Craig Haney officiating at the First Church of God, 227 West Warren Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God, 142 Jamison Avenue, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
