Milton Christian

Milton F. Christian, 88, of Cadiz, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale. He was born July 24, 1925 in Hopedale, Ohio, a son of the late Harry M. and Pearl I. Smith Christian. Milton was a retired Police Officer from the Cadiz Police Department. He also operated heavy equipment and moved mobile homes for Nemo's Hauling and Blackie's Hauling in Cadiz. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church and played softball and baseball in the Cadiz Merchants League. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Williams Christian this past January; a son, Milton, Jr.; a daughter, Patricia; and a sister, Maxine Miller. Surviving are two sons, Craig Christian of Cadiz and Kirk Christian of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Vesta Renee (Michael) Banks and Greta Jo Christian, all of Cadiz and Yolanda Christian of Zanesville; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Friends may call Saturday, 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 301 E. Market St., Cadiz. Rev. Craig Smith will officiate. Military honors will be performed by the Cadiz American Legion at 1:45 p.m. at the church. The family is assisted by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz.
