Nancy Hennen Sproull, 84, of Cadiz, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22,2026 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on March 10, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sara Nash Hennen.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jean and Wayne Adams, and Doris and Ernie Mizer.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Sproull, whom she married on August 17, 1963. Together they shared a lifetime of love, family and cherished memories. She is also survived by her daughters: Lori (Mike) Doane of Freeport and Holly (Dusty) Willis of Cadiz.
Nancy was a proud grandmother to Ashley, Kurtis (Amanda), Ronna (Austin) Holden, Justin, Nathan and Hayley. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Dominic, Deakon, Adrionna and Owen, who brought her great joy. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Ann (Lester) Nabb of Cadiz, along with several nieces and nephews.
Nancy graduated from Cadiz High School in 1959 and was a longtime member of Rankin Methodist Church. In her younger years, she worked at Equitable Savings and Loan in Cadiz. However, the role she treasured most was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
A caring and strong willed woman, Nancy’s greatest pride in her life was her family. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate birthdays, holiday, school programs, sporting events and family gatherings. With camera in hand, she faithfully captured the moments that mattered the most. She spent countless hours printing photographs, organizing albums and preserving family memories so that future generations would always have them to cherish.
Nancy’s love for her grandchildren was evident to everyone who knew her. One look around her home told the story, with walls covered in photographs documenting their lives, accomplishments and special moments. She loved attending their activities and events, always ready with her camera to capture another memory.
Christmas was one on Nancy’s favorite times of the year. No holiday season was complete without the sugar cookies and candy cane cookies her daughters loved so much. Her grandchildren also knew they could count on finding her famous lemon and cherry desserts at the family gatherings. She took great pride in making sure family traditions continued and that everyone felt loved through the simple joys of being together.
Nancy enjoyed quiet evenings watching the Hallmark Channel, reruns of the Golden Girls, and cheering on her favorite football team, the Cleveland Browns. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and creating a home where family came first.
Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the traditions she passed down and the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 2-5 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz with her funeral service to be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Rankin United Methodist Church with Pastor Jon Little officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
