Raymond Mcconnell

Raymond A. ''Mac'' McConnell, 89, lifelong resident of New Athens, died Saturday, January 4, at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz. Mac was born August 28, 1913 in New Athens a son of the late George C. and Laura Minnie McConnell. Mac was a retired Union Carpenter and Protestant by faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Sonny McConnell; a daughter, Laura Fryer; and a brother, Adam McConnell. Mac is survived by 2 sons: Lonnie Burroughs of New Athens and Kevin McConnell of Scio; 3 daughters: Karen Garrett of Lafferty; and Sue Kanopsic and Andrea Swann both of New Athens; 24 Grandchildren; 36 Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Calling hours are Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where services will be held Tuesday, January 7, with Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial follows at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be make to the Harrison County Home 41500 Cadiz-Dennison Road, Cadiz, Ohio 43907 or New Athens VFD, c/o JOhn Kurucz, Box 65, New Athens, Ohio 43981.
