Robert Lee McCue, 76 of Cadiz, passed peacefully Friday, August 23, 2013 at Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville. He was born July 26, 1937 in Cadiz, a son of the late James T. and Elizabeth Richards McCue. Bob graduated from Cadiz High School in 1956 and was the former Chief of Police for the Village of Cadiz and Harrison County Sheriff's Deputy. He was a retired Foreman from Consolidation Coal Company and a retired School Bus Driver for Harrison Hills City School District. He presently is employed as a part-time maintenance worker at Belmont College. He was a member of the Flushing Lodge 298, F. Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville; and the Harrison Chapter 171, Royal Arch Masons. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Cadiz American Legion, Post 34. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Janet McCue. Bob is survived by his wife Sylvia Sue Secrest McCue; 2 sons: Robert Allen of Martins Ferry and Michael Lee of Cadiz; a daughter, Beth of Wheeling, WV and 2 grandchildren: Trevor Lee McCue and Brooke Elizabeth Beal, both of Cadiz. Friends may call Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Rev. Jon Little will officiate.
