Roger Akers

Roger W. Akers, 70, of Adena, died Monday, September 16, 2013 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. He was born August 8, 1943 in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Orville and Evelyn Kile Akers. Roger was a retired Train Master for the Newburgh and South Shore Railroad in Cleveland and a retired Carroll County Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the Unionport Masonic Lodge, #333; the St. Clairsville Moose; Cadiz Eagles; American Legion and the Pine Valley, Short Creek, and Jewett Sportsmen's Clubs. He was the former owner/operator of Rogers Alley in Hopedale. Surviving are two sons, Warren Akers of East Cadiz and Rex Akers of North Royalton; four grandchildren: Leah, Katherine, Seth and Kevin; a brother, Steve Akers of Alma, WV and a sister, Nancy Hezoucky of Carrollton.
