Roger William Davis, 88, of Cadiz died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home. He was born November 19, 1926 in Somerton, Ohio a son of the late William and Goldie Mae Saffell Davis. He served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater from 1944-1946. He worked for Consol for 34 years, retiring as the Assistant Superintendent of Reclamation. He was a life member of the Hopedale VFW, Cadiz American Legion Post #34, Cadiz Eagles #2162, Flushing Masonic Lodge, Wheeling Shriners, Antique Automobile Club of America and a special honorary member of the Cadiz Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Jean Detling Davis; children: Bruce of Cadiz, Dale (Jackie) of Cadiz, Wayne of Grove City, and Paula (Gary) Savage of Alliance; grandchildren: Michele (Mike) Sliva of Cadiz, Angie (Colby) Dearth of Dublin, Megan and Andrea Davis of Cadiz; and his great grandchildren: Aiden Sliva, Peyton and Kellan Dearth. A private service was held at the convenience of the family at Holly Memorial Gardens with Rev. Pete Tuchek officiating. The Cadiz American Legion provided military honors.
