Roger F. McEniry, 72, of Adena, Ohio and formerly Buffalo, New York, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2025, while doing yard work at his home in Adena, Ohio. He was born on January 17, 1953, in Bradford, Pennsylvania the son of the late Hoyt S. and Gloria T. Lechiara McEniry.
Roger was a retired operator at DuPont. He moved to Adena to build his dream home on land that is deeply rooted in his late wife Rosemary’s family, the Varkony Farm. He had a deep love for his wife and in her memory planted 32 lilac bushes, which she loved, in her honor—one for each year the pair had been married. He was very meticulous and hands-on in the building of their home in Adena, and adored retiring to and living in the countryside. Roger was also a collector—he had many trinkets that he cherished and enjoyed and loved to share with others. Roger’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, Rosemary Veras McEniry in 2011; his sister Catherine (Cathy) (Joseph) Finciki.
He is survived by his brother, Richard McEniry; loving niece, Marla (Erik) Jensen; his nephew, Rudolpho “Rudy” McEniry; and his great-nephew, Nicolaus Jensen.
At Roger’s request there will be no viewing. His remains will be placed with Rosemary’s in a family niche at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Oakwood Mausoleum, Southeast Alcove, in Buffalo, New York.
