Roger M. Solvey, 60, of Cadiz, Ohio, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born February 19, 1953 in Canton, OH, a son of the late Mike Solvey, Jr. and Ruth Anne Huston Solvey Thompson. Roger was a Truck Driver at Apex Landfill, and was previously an Independent Owner-Operator Truck Driver. He was a member of the East Warren St. Church of Christ in Cadiz, he was a veteran of Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam Era and a member of the Marine Corps Club of Weirton; a lifetime member of ONIDA; a former member of the Harrisville VFD; and a former member of the Little Hustlers Tractor Pulling Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Howard "Pete" Thompson; a sister, Cheryl Solvey; and two brothers, Howard "Butch" Thompson, II and Richard Solvey. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Nancy Kay Wilson Solvey; a daughter, Ashlei Solvey of the home; three sisters, Helen Solvey Troy of Scio, Catherine "Kate" Solvey of Bucyrus and Mardi Solvey Edwards (Dan) of Stuart, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, 4-8 p.m. and Friday, 11-1 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Evangelist Robert Main officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale. Military honors will be performed by the Weirton Marine Corps Club. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrison Community Hospital, 951 E.
