Ruth Ramsey

Ruth A. Ramsey, 72, of Cadiz, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Harrison Community Hospital. She was born September 4, 1935 in Cadiz, a daughter of the late Raymond R. and Anna Jackson Brooks. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz, where she was a member of the Gospel Expressions Choir, the Missionary Society and the Stewardess Board # 2. She was also a Senior Companion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Ramsey in 2002. Surviving are two sons, Marshall and Ray Ramsey; two daughters, Foncetta Johnson and Paula Ramsey, all of Cadiz; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother Raymond and his wife, Donna Brooks of Cadiz; special aunts, Shirley Dandridge of Cadiz, Elizabeth Hinkle of Oberlin, Laura Beall of Cleveland, and Virginia Rucker of Columbus; a special adopted daughter, Marie Mason Harris of Martins Ferry; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, Cadiz, with Rev. Charles Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
