Sarah Dowdle

Sarah L. Dowdle, 95 of Cadiz, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. She was born January 14, 1918 in Kenwood, Ohio a daughter of the late Clyde and Icie Thompson Hendershott. She was a homemaker, a member of Scott United Methodist Church and a former member of Springdale Friends Church for 80 years; AARP; a former member of the Brushy Fork Homemakers and was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband Walter Dowdle in 1969; a son Willis (Willie) Dowdle on March 12, 2013; 3 brothers: Lawrence, John and Clyde Hendershott; a great grandson and a great great granddaughter. She is survived by 2 daughters: Doreen (Max) Miller of Clyde, Ohio and Joyce (Jack) Parkhurst of Vickery, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Alicia Dowdle of Cadiz; 2 sisters: Mildred McLaughlin of New Waterford, Ohio and Martha Miller of Glendale, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandsons; 3 step great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 4 from 4-8 at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Greewood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Arrangements by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio.
