Shirley Gale

Shirley Jean Gale (Trouten), 78, went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2025 under the loving care of Hospice.

Born into a family rooted in love and faith, Shirley was welcomed in Heaven by her husband, Daniel V. Gale, Sr.; her daughter, Brenda Joann Kelley; her sister, Carolyn Young; and her parents, James and Dessie Trouten.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished family: her sisters, Nada Stillwagon, Barbara Odell and Marjorie Coutts; her lifelong best friend, Lila Cross; her children, Shawn (Bob) Finnegan, Dan (Tiffany) Gale, Jr. and Jim (Deb) Kelley; her grandchildren, Nikki (Justin) Stutz, Jessica Nelson, Casey Dotson, Danny Gale III, Krysten Gale, Kiera Gale, Jaxson Gale, Matt and AJ Bair; her great grandchildren, Kenton and Rowan Stutz, Abel and Waylon Gale, Mila Gale, and Paisley and Kinsley Dotson.

Shirley spent her life caring for others-both in her work and at home. As a devoted LPN, she showed compassion and tenderness to countless patients. At home, her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, filling their lives with warmth, encouragement and unconditional love.

One of her greatest callings was to share her faith. She devoted herself to teaching her grandchildren about God, taking them to church and Sunday school and planting seeds of faith that will continue to grow for generations to come.

Those who knew Shirley will remember her as a kind, gentle, and selfless soul who brought light into the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy is one of faith, love and family-a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio.

Shirley’s life was a gift, and though she will be deeply missed, her memory forever will be cherished by all who loved her.
