Thomas Robert “Tom” Ott, 71, of Cadiz, left this world to walk in Heaven on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family after fighting a courageous 7-year battle with VEXAS. Tom was born July 8, 1954, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Gilbert W. and Patricia Ann Lukens Ott.
Tom retired from Howard Bowers Contracting where he did what he loved, driving truck. Tom was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Cadiz V.F.D. where he served as President for the past 20 years. Tom loved spending time with his family and attending their sporting events. He and Barb’s house was more often than not filled with their children, grandkids and great-grandkids running around, and he adored every minute of it. Tom also enjoyed attending truck pulls with his son and grandsons.
Tom was preceded in death in addition to his parents; by 2 brothers: Danne and Michael Ott.
Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Eickleberry Ott; his son, Thomas “Tommy” Ott and his wife Laura of Cadiz; 2 daughters: Tessi Jozwiak and her husband Bob of Cadiz and Tiffany Roederer and her husband Jeff “Squeek” of Thornville, Ohio; Grandchildren: Zach (Marissa) Ott, Thomas “Owen” (Ivy) Ott, Ariel Ott, Julianna (Logan) Dulkoski, Haley Jozwiak, Abbi Jozwiak, Chase and Charlotte Roederer; Great Grandchildren: Bentley, Lexus, Sadie, Waylon, Colter, Parker, Cooper, and Ellie; a brother, James Timothy Ott and his wife Julie of Windsor, Wisconsin; and brothers-in-law, Dave Eickleberry and his wife Bernice from Core, West Virginia and Mike Eickleberry and his wife Cathy from Sevierville, Tennessee; and his emotional support dog, Allie.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz where his funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett, Ohio. Cadiz V.F.D. will conduct a service at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
