Tillie Erdos, 83, of New Athens, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Wheeling Hosptial, Wheeling, WV. She was born February 3, 1920 in Gallagher, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Albert and Helene Baron Hopkins. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Flushing; Franklin Museum Committee; Catholic Womens Club; Flushing Senior Citizens; Harrison County Democratic Women's Club; and New Athens Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Erdos in 1988, and 2 sisters: Rejane Crothers and Marlene Secrest. Surviving are 3 sons, Lanny and his wife, Jean of Smithville, OH, Terry and his wife, Rita of New Athens, and Babe and his wife, Sue of Morristown; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Albert Hopkins of New Athens and Harold Hopkins of Waverly, OH. . Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz Ohio. Vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Litergy with Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Flushing, Ohio by Monsignor John Cymbor. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Athens V.F.D., c/o John Kurucz, P.O. Box 65, New Athens, Ohio 43981.
