Verda Umbowers

Verda Viola Umbowers, 86, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Autumn Health Care in Adena, Ohio. She was born March 26, 1927 in Hopedale, Ohio, a daughter of the late Willam Earl and Grace L. Hayes Nichols. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, the Mr. and Mrs. Class at the Church and past President of the Mt. Pleasant Garden Club. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband Fred A. Umbowers in 1995; 3 brothers: Alfred, Edward and Robert Nichols and a sister, Sara Rapp. She is survived by 2 daughters: Diane (Marion "Buzz") Blake of Harrisville and Lori (Adam) DiLoreto of Seffner, Florida; 2 sons: Robert (Charmayne) Umbowers of Gig Harbor, Washington and Michael (Penny) Umbowers of Newcomerston; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 17 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz with Rev. Byron McIlroy officiating.
