Walter Mansfield

Walter R. "Shakey" Mansfield, 64, of Cadiz (Unionvale), died Monday, May 18, 2015 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born January 14, 1951 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late John and Alice DeWalt Mansfield. Shakey was a devoted Truck Driver, who loved his job for over forty years. He was a member of the Cadiz Aerie 2162, FOE. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Mansfield; three brothers, Charles, Robert and Lloyd Mansfield; and a sister, Bertha Mansfield. Surviving are his wife, Janet Stillwagon Mansfield; two daughters, Lori (Geary, Sr.) Bennington of Bloomingdale and Jennifer Johnson of Cadiz; five grandchildren: Geary, Jr., Austin, Gage, Samantha and Kameron; and a great granddaughter on the way, who will be named Riley; four brothers, Ernie (Sherry) Mansfield, Jack (Marsha) Mansfield and Mark Mansfield, all of Cadiz; and Mike Mansfield of Durham, NC; two sisters, Linda (Jerry) Ledger of Cadiz and Connie of Hamilton, OH; and a sister-in-law, Sandy Mansfield of Cadiz. Friends may call Thursday, 4-7 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Dean Blythe officiating.
