Wanneta June Horn

Wanneta June Horn, 82, of Cadiz, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born October 3, 1941 in Cadiz, Ohio a daughter of the late Elmer E. and Lula M. Murphy Lawlis.

Prior to retirement, Wanneta worked as a nurses aide. Upon retirement, she served as a “classroom grandma” at HeadStart preschool. She was an active member of the First Church of God. Wanneta was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids; spoiling them with sweets.

Wanneta was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her son, Jimmy Horn. 

She is survived by her three children: Christopher (Sally) Horn, Jeff (Shelly) Horn and Marcy (Tod) Thompson; six grandchildren, Tim, Tory, Tayla, Rachel, Elyse, and Andrew; her brother, Walter (Wendy) Lawlis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 11-1 at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home in Cadiz, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Haney officiating. Burial will take place at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
